Our name

The Leyden jar was the first means of storing an electric charge which then could be discharged at the experimenter's will (aka a capacitor). It is named after the Dutch city of Leiden where Pieter van Musschenbroek invented the device in 1745. It is by far our favorite invention, as it underpins all of modern computing.
